The pull-up world record for 24 hours is 12,345, set by Mexico’s Enrique Zapata in January 2026. That’s more than eight pull-ups a minute, every minute, for a full day. The women’s record belongs to an Australian: Olivia Vinson did 7,079 in Launceston, Tasmania, in 2025, almost double the previous best.
Here are the current Guinness World Records for pull-ups, how the 24-hour record keeps climbing, the American waiting to have a bigger number ratified, and what a good pull-up number looks like for the rest of us.

- Most in 24 hours (men): 12,345, Enrique Zapata (Mexico), 31 January 2026

The 24-hour record: 12,345 and counting
Enrique Zapata set the men’s 24-hour record in Querétaro, Mexico, on 31 January 2026, after more than five years of training. He credited his wife Mariana, a physiotherapist and two mindset coaches. “It took discipline, belief, and an extraordinary team. This record is about perseverance over time. If I can do this, everyone can,” he told Guinness World Records.
The record has climbed fast. David Goggins did 4,030 in 2013; in September 2024 Doug “Censor” Martin reached 9,250, according to a record progression compiled by Felix Wong. The same month, South Korean soldier Oh Yohan pushed it to 11,707 in Incheon.
Oh Yohan’s 11,707
Oh, who served with the Republic of Korea’s 707th Special Mission Group, stopped deliberately at 11,707 to honour his old unit. “I wanted to prove that the soldiers of the Republic of Korea are strong,” he said, and called it a dream “I had been preparing for since I was deployed overseas 22 years ago” (BoxLife Magazine). He averaged about eight pull-ups every minute.
The 12,412 waiting for Guinness
On 2–3 May 2026, 22-year-old Xavier Dillard of Harrisonburg, Virginia, did 12,412 pull-ups in 24 hours, 67 more than Zapata. “I was very skinny, I was nobody big, I just really diligently wanted something, and I put in the effort,” he told WHSV. He told reporters he started pushing his pull-ups three years earlier to beat a friend, and trained for the record for two. As of 8 October, Guinness still lists Zapata as the record holder while Dillard’s evidence is reviewed (UPI).
Olivia Vinson: Australia’s 7,079
The women’s 24-hour record is Australian. Olivia Vinson did 7,079 pull-ups in Launceston, Tasmania, on 29–30 March 2025, nearly doubling the previous record of 4,081, according to Guinness World Records. She trained for 12 months for the attempt.
Her pacing is the lesson: she did higher reps early, then dropped to sets of three and two in the later hours to keep every rep to standard, averaging about five a minute (Guinness World Records).
How do they do it?
Nobody does thousands of pull-ups in big sets. Record holders break the day into small, steady sets with short rests: Oh averaged about eight a minute, and Vinson did bigger sets early before dropping to threes and twos. The other common thread is time: Zapata trained for more than five years, Vinson for a year and Dillard for two.
What’s a good pull-up number for you?
Forget 12,345. The average man who trains can do 4 to 8 strict pull-ups; about 10 is strong at any age, and 15 or more is excellent. Check your number by age on our pull-up standards for men.
