Spoiler warning: this guide covers eliminations from episodes 1–7 of Physical 100: Italy. The final, episode 8, is released on Friday 2 October.
Netflix’s Physical 100: Italy (Physical Italia: da 100 a 1) put three Olympic champions and a clutch of other Olympians, one of Italy’s most famous TV faces, a Mr Universe, a Spartan Race world champion, a butcher and a firefighter into the same arena. Six men are left. If you’re watching and want to know who someone is, or how they went out, this is the guide.

The final six
Every woman is out, and so are the Olympic champions. These six go into the final. For how they got there and what the final looks like, see our Physical 100: Italy winner guide, which we’ll update with the result on Friday.
- Manuel Lombardo: judo champion. Won episode 7’s hang above the pool at close to an hour, which let him choose his heat in the final.
- Tommaso Nisi: firefighter. Named by Lombardo as one of the two real threats.
- Edoardo Papa: Italian surf champion. The last man hanging before Lombardo in episode 7.
- Emanuele Bruno: judo champion. Cut by his own team in episode 5, he captained the “rejects” team that won its chariot heat outright.
- Matteo Sartori: footballer and his team’s chariot strategist.
- Giulio Domi: DJ. Saved by Sartori when their team had to cut one member after the chariot race.
The Olympians and famous names
Federica Pellegrini
Italy’s greatest swimmer: 200 m freestyle Olympic champion at Beijing 2008, Olympic silver medallist at 16, and six times a world champion. She survived the early rounds but went out in episode 6, when Alvise Rigo’s team missed the chariot race cut by nine seconds.
Jury Chechi
The “Lord of the Rings”: Olympic rings champion at Atlanta 1996 and five times world champion. At 56 he was one of the oldest in the cast, and one of the first big names out. He chose MMA fighter Ivano Salerno for his one-on-one duel and lost the three-minute fight for the ball.
Tania Cagnotto
Diver with five Olympic Games behind her, and silver and bronze medals from Rio 2016. She was the first Italian woman to win a world championship diving medal.
Andrea Minguzzi
Olympic Greco-Roman wrestling champion from Beijing 2008. He captained one of the teams that survived the Forgotten Temple, and reached the last 14. One of the heaviest men left, he hung on for about 28 minutes in episode 7’s hang before dropping.
Elisabetta Canalis
TV presenter, actress and model, and a trained kickboxer who won her first competitive bout in 2022. She lost her duel to CrossFit athlete Elisa Fuliano.
Alvise Rigo
Actor, TV personality and former rugby player (full profile). His team was knocked out in the Forgotten Temple, and he brought all of them back by outlasting the other three losing teams’ representatives in the Pillars of Hercules, holding on as the pillars filled with water. His team then went out in the chariot race, nine seconds short.
Luis Sal
YouTuber and one of Italy’s best-known content creators. He lost his duel to calisthenics and powerlifting athlete Filippo Pici.
Elisa Fuliano
Italian CrossFit champion and the standout of the first week. She won the opening test, a plank on a suspended grid above the pool, lasting more than an hour and 27 minutes, then beat Elisabetta Canalis in the duels. Her team went out in the Forgotten Temple, and she was first to drop when she represented it in the Pillars of Hercules. Endurance like that is worth training for: here’s what grip strength says about how you’re ageing.
Other Contestants
- Mirco Bergamasco: former Italy rugby international who played at three World Cups.
- Rosalba Forciniti: Olympic judo medallist. Cut by her team after the chariot race in episode 6.
- Susy Scutto: world judo champion. Lasted more than 30 minutes in episode 7’s hang. For comparison, a one-minute dead hang is a solid result for most adults.
- Sara Del Prete: personal trainer, and the last woman in the competition. She hung on for about 36 minutes in episode 7.
- Sebastian Rodwell: Calcio Storico Fiorentino player and team captain. Held on for about 53 minutes in episode 7, remarkable for a man his size.
- Paolo Masella: butcher and team captain, one of the early favourites. Out in episodes 6–7.
- Daniele Scatizzi: MMA fighter whose team beat Pici’s in the Forgotten Temple, then went out in the chariot race.
- Tommaso Fragassi: Mr Universe. Cut by his team in episode 5 and moved to Bruno’s rejects.
- Luca Pescollderungg: Spartan Race world champion.
- Andrea Invernizzi: Italian strongman champion, at 156 kg. Out in the opening test, along with powerlifter Mauro Oldani, bodybuilder Gabriele Di Via and skeleton racer Valentina Margaglio.
Physical 100: Italy elimination order
From 100 to six, stage by stage:
| Stage | Episode | What happened | Left |
|---|---|---|---|

| The duels | 2–3 | The top 40 picked opponents for three-minute fights over a ball, in an agility arena or a strength arena. Chechi, Canalis and Luis Sal went out | 40 |
| The Forgotten Temple | 4 | Eight teams of five built a bridge and moved sand across it for 12 minutes. The teams of Pici, Fuliano, Biviano and Rigo lost | 20 |

| The chariot race | 6 | Teams of four hauled a chariot one at a time, from 100 kg up to 145 kg. Rigo’s team (with Pellegrini) and Scatizzi’s team went out, and two teams each cut a member | 14 |
| The Grid of Heroes | 7 | Hang from bars above the pool; the first eight to drop were out, including Minguzzi, Scutto, Del Prete and Rodwell. Lombardo won | 6 |
| The final | 8 | Out on Friday 2 October | 1 |
